Demo Mode

Evaluation environment with sample data provided by the admin — explore the Workbench without a database

Purpose

Demo mode is an evaluation environment that lets users explore the Workbench's capabilities without connecting a database. The admin of the site chooses which sample datasets — sales data, geographic data, product catalogues, sentiment analysis data, or their own — are available to demo users. Evaluators can build recipes, run statistics, create charts, and test the AI assistant without connecting their own database.

Enabling Demo Mode

Demo mode is enabled in Admin → Setup → Options → Demo. When enabled, the login screen shows a "Try Demo" button. Demo users log in with a shared demo account — no registration required, no email verification. Multiple evaluators can use the demo simultaneously with isolated sessions.

Visual Indicators

Orange badges on every page read "Demo Mode — Data not saved." The nav bar gains an orange accent colour. A persistent banner at the top of the screen reminds users of the evaluation context. These visual cues ensure evaluators understand they are in a temporary environment.

Demo mode requires admin configuration. The admin must create the demo user account and enable demo mode. The admin selects and configures which datasets are available in demo mode. No datasets are preloaded with the software.
