The workbench has a ‘demo’ mode – and we intend to deploy an Internet visible copy of the workbench for people to experiment with. But since this software is not being developed as a commercial product, that demo is just personally funded by the developers.
The demo mode visibly identifies itself with a banner and floating notification on all pages ..
The primary limitation of demo mode is that the connections to a database server and AI platform must be remote. IE. Not run on our server. The resources to present the Demo on the internet are not suitable for offering the workbench as a service, though there seem to be some commercial offerings that do something in the same direction.
The workbench is deliberately intended for people who will run a copy of it locally. Not in ‘demo’ mode.... they may use their own database server (very likely) and perhaps a local AI like Ollama
We believe that the workbench, run locally (rather than some hosted service) is essential in some sectors, and desirable in many others.
Data security and privacy is critical for the health industry and most aspects of government services, and important for many commercial situations.
