The Registration screen triggers a registration process that ensures verification of the email address entered on the Registration screen.
The password fields are also verified to ensure that the password conforms to the site password strength policy.
That policy is set by the the Admin user .. so what you see is just how the system behaves for the default ‘medium’ security policy
After you register, your email address has an account created but it is ‘unverified’…. You should receive an email to that address (in your chosen language) that looks like this:
